Ying Chenghe turned his head and stared at the sickle in Wei San’s hand: “When did you change your appearance again? You were using a dagger before.”
“I’ve been thinking about sickles lately,” Wei San said, turning the sickle handle around. “Willow wood is so tough, could it be used as a material?”
“……It’s possible, but difficult to handle.”
Wei San raised the sickle in her hand: “It’s free materials, why not take them?”
The group struggled onward, and sure enough, they saw a patch of strange willows dancing wildly in the wind. The willow branches swayed in the wind, striking the ground with a ‘snap’ sound. Looking at the ground, they saw countless gullies, clearly the work of these willow branches.
“Be careful, everyone,” Jin Ke reminded them.
Wei San rushed forward first, her agile steps quickly darting into the Strange Willow Forest, the scythe in her hand gleaming coldly in the sunlight.
These strange willow branches have rough textures, and even the trunks are swaying in the wind. As soon as Wei San entered, she began to dodge these wildly dancing willows. She rushed in and observed for a while, and finally chose a thick willow branch and hugged it directly.
As soon as Jin Ke and the others entered, they saw a clump of willow branches on the tip, with Wei San holding the branches and being blown up and down by the wind.
“……”
Wei San worked nimbly, cutting the willow branches with a sickle. They were too hard, but fortunately the sickle was made of 3S-grade material. It took her a while to finally cut one of the willow branches.
While dodging the physical attacks from the other willow branches, she observed the texture of the willow branches and finally concluded that only the willow bark was useful.
She doesn’t need to cut the willow branches completely; she just needs to peel off the bark.
“Something’s coming,” Huo Xuanshan warned. “It’s a bald monkey.”
The bald monkey, only half the height of a human, is a small mutated star beast. It is extremely agile, with well-developed limbs and incredibly sharp claws that can penetrate rocks like mud, which is why it was able to survive in the Xuanfeng Arena.
No sooner had he finished speaking than dozens of bald monkeys darted into the ranks of Damocles Military Academy. The crowd only saw shadows flash by, and they could not see the monkeys’ true faces at all.
They were too fast; some people couldn’t react in time and got injured.
Upon hearing the cries of pain coming from within the school ranks, Wei San put the peeled willow bark into her combat kit and turned back to the team.
“I’ll protect them, you go to the school team,” Huo Xuanshan said.
Wei San immediately ran towards the school team. The military academy students were still trying to maintain their formation, but the bald monkey’s attack had already injured some of them.
She caught a glimpse of several bald monkeys flashing by out of the corner of her eye, and suddenly threw her scythe in one direction. With a sharp ‘squeak,’ she hit one of the bald monkeys.
Wei San dodged the swung willow branch, used the momentum to leap, and quickly ran towards the injured bald monkey.
The sickle struck the back of its neck, but even so, the bald monkey’s movement was only slightly slowed. It lunged at Wei San, its sharp claws flashing, even sharper than the sickle.
Wei San leaned back to dodge the bald monkey’s attack, then kicked it in the head, causing it to fall right where the next willow branch would strike.
The bald monkey was kicked and its mind went blank for a moment. By the time it landed and came to its senses, the strange willow branch was already upon it. It had nowhere to dodge and was struck hard by the branch, letting out a wail.
At that moment, Wei San approached it again, pulled out the scythe from the back of its neck, and slashed it down with one blow.
The bald monkey didn’t even have a chance to howl again.
Wei San had no time to pay attention to the one she had already dealt with, and turned to deal with the other remaining bald monkeys.
